Clinical Review & Assessment

Our clinical team reviews the referral information and conducts an initial assessment to determine whether Joy & Hope is the right level of care. We aim to complete this review within one business day.

  • Discussion with referring provider if needed

Admission Decision & Coordination

Once accepted, we work with you and the client to coordinate a smooth transition. We communicate throughout the process and prepare a welcome plan before the resident arrives.

Ongoing Communication

After admission, we keep referral partners informed. We share progress updates, flag any significant changes, and involve you in discharge planning when the time comes.

Who is eligible?

Joy & Hope accepts adults 18 and older who require structured residential behavioral health support. Ideal candidates are motivated to engage in their recovery and do not require acute inpatient hospitalization.

  • Adults aged 18 and older
  • Diagnosed mental health or substance use condition
  • Medically stable (not requiring acute hospital care)
  • Willing to participate in programming
  • Transitioning from inpatient, detox, or higher level of care
  • Referred by a licensed provider or agency

Documents helpful at referral

The following documents help speed up our review process. We do not require all of them upfront — our team will guide you on what is needed.

  • Recent psychiatric evaluation or discharge summary
  • Current medication list
  • Insurance information (Medicaid ID, policy number)
  • Prior authorization if required by insurer
  • Any relevant legal documents (probation, conservatorship)
  • Emergency contact information
